In this session, we will review the current legislative challenges and related external stressors facing today’s transgender and gender-expansive (TGE) youth. We will then discuss the impact these external stressors are having on youth and the ways that providers can advocate for TGE youth. We will then center the experience of gender joy/euphoria, centering ways providers can assess and uplift gender joy with TGE youth, not only during pride month but throughout the year.

Learning Objectives:

1.       Describe at least 2 legislative actions that are impacting TGE youth.

2.       Identify at least 3 external stressors for TGE youth and their impact on mental health.

3.     List at least three areas to assess for gender joy/euphoria with TGE youth.
