Mentoring Scholarship

Dr. Jan Owens-Lane Mentoring Scholarship (formerly, The Ethnic Diversity Task Force (EDTF) Mentorship Scholarship) is now accepting applications

Each year, the CPA Board of Directors, CPA Foundation, as well as psychology leaders in CT, pitch in to support racially and ethnically minoritized high school, undergraduate and graduate psychology students who are interested in being involved in CPA. Because of their generosity, many students are offered mentoring scholarships to cover the cost for convention registration and one year of student membership in CPA.

STUDENT APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION DEADLINE: October 19, 2022

Scholarship recipients will become new members of EDTF and significantly benefit in many ways:

  • Eligible to attend the CPA Annual Convention held this year Friday, November 4, 2022, which includes participating in conference sessions, attending Awards Ceremony
  • Luncheon with racially and ethnically minoritized psychologists and social time/happy hour at the conclusion of the convention
  • Receive free one-year student CPA membership (upon completion of membership application), which includes access to CPA news updates through the E-Newsletter and free access to CPA and EDTF listservs
  • Participate in mentoring and networking activities throughout the year
  • Presentation opportunities at local, state, and national levels
  • Participation in the EDTF Hairstylist and Barber Initiative – MindStylz
  • Access to supervision, training, research and practicum opportunities in the State
