Paul Gunser, Psy.D.
I have been a licensed psychologist in NYS since 1987. My particular psychotherapy approach encompasses Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I am BCIA Board-Certified in Neurofeedback, which I use with ADHD and other Cognitive Problems (working memory and executive functions). In addition, I am a Certified Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback Practitioner through the HeartMath Institute. I have worked with Stress and Pain Management in the hospital and private practice settings. In addition, I employ hypnosis where appropriate (I am a member of the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis). As a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, I use the latest evidence-based sleep disorder interventions. My Certificate from Cornell University in Nutrition and Healthy Living has given me additional knowledge to help my patients manage chronic disease.
I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Neuropsychology from the same institution, with training at the Mt. Sinia Hospital in NYC. My clinical experience includes being an attending psychologist at St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, NY, until my retirement in 2020. I was a member of the palliative care team and the Cancer Committee.
My office is near Lakeville, Salisbury, and Sharon, Connecticut (10-15 min.)
