Dr. Meghan Butler
Dr. Meghan Butler, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. She provides therapy, assessment, and consultation for children with complex, overlapping needs across emotional, behavioral, and learning domains.
Many of the families Dr. Butler works with are trying to make sense of a child who is struggling in more than one area at once—such as big emotions alongside attention or learning challenges, or behavioral concerns that are rooted in anxiety, trauma, or developmental differences. She has extensive experience helping families understand the “why” behind their child’s behavior, drawing on brain-based science and child development to make sense of patterns that can otherwise feel confusing or unpredictable. From this understanding, she helps families develop practical, individualized strategies that support growth across home, school, and social settings.
Her clinical approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and grounded in developmental and trauma-informed care. Dr. Butler works closely with parents and caregivers, offering guidance, tools, and ongoing support so they feel more confident responding to their child’s needs. She also collaborates with schools and other providers to ensure care is coordinated and effective.
Dr. Butler’s areas of expertise include ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, mood concerns, behavioral challenges, and complex trauma, with particular specialization in early childhood and neurodevelopmental profiles. She is trained in play therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and expressive arts therapies, using developmentally appropriate approaches to help children communicate, process experiences, and build skills.
