Derek A. Fenwick, PsyD, is currently starting an individual psychotherapy private practice, with an emphasis on work with the LGBTQ community. Currently, patients will be seen all telehealth (virtual) format. Please contact me (on my email) for more information and pricing.
Dr. Fenwick is currently a Licensed Clinical Psychologist working in Young Adult Services at Hartford HealthCare/Institute of Living, specializing in The Right Track/LGBTQ emphasis area. He is an integral part of The Right Track’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) focusing on the unique needs of the LGBTQ population who are at greater risk for psychosocial stressors, negative coping, and family rejection along with co-occurring mental health difficulties.
Dr. Fenwick completed a a Clinical Psychology Internship and Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Institute of Living and graduated with his Psy.D. at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He also has a M.S. in Movement Science with a specialization in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. His undergraduate degree (B.A.) in Psychology is from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. His clinical interests include LGBTQ young adults and adults, the role of identity development, examining countertransference, and understanding personality functioning.
