The Department of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine seeks a licensed clinical psychologist to provide expert clinical services within the Adolescent Ambulatory Services of the Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital. The position carries a faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry.

This position is part-time (20 hours per week) and includes the provision of direct clinical care to patients, and for interested candidates, opportunities to engage in support and supervision to psychology practicum students. The psychologist will provide clinical services in the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which serves youth aged 12-18 presenting for a wide variety of mental health concerns. The psychologist will be involved in delivering assessment feedback to newly-admitted youth and their families who, as part of the standard admission procedures, complete a battery of self-report measures that are used to inform their treatment planning at the IOP. Additionally, the psychologist will lead a variety of IOP psychotherapy groups (e.g., ACT, CBT, DBT Skills groups). Interested candidates may also perform comprehensive psychological assessments to youth admitted to the IOP.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional knowledge and skills in the evaluation and treatment of adolescents and provision of group therapy.  Strong candidates will also possess expertise in the provision of evidence-based treatments (such as CBT, DBT, ACT) for depression, anxiety, and PTSD and the utilization of measurement-based care.

Yale New Haven Hospital encompasses the Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, a 118 bed, acute care, psychiatric facility that consists of five inpatient units across two hospital campus locations, Interventional Psychiatric Services, and several ambulatory IOP and Outpatient programs for adolescents and adults within the greater New Haven area.

Qualifications

Candidates must be licensed (or licensed eligible) within the State of Connecticut and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to function well as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses.
