Clinical Psychologist- Behavioral Medicine Faculty
Middlesex Health Family Medicine Residency Program
The Middlesex Health Family Medicine Residency Program is seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our faculty and lead behavioral health education for our resident physicians. A doctoral degree, completion of an approved internship in Clinical Psychology, Connecticut licensure and clinical experience are required. Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
Reporting to the Residency Director, the successful applicant will teach our residents to take a thorough psychosocial history, assess, treat and appropriately refer patients with behavioral health conditions. They will plan and lead multiple weekly half-day seminars on behavioral health topics, coordinate pharmacologic teaching and collaborative case conferences with our Department of Psychiatry, and directly observe and supervise patient care. They will also lead our Behavioral Medicine Track, which provides training in advanced prescribing and behavioral interventions for interested residents.
In addition to behavioral education, the successful applicant will also serve as a member of our core Faculty. Duties will include participation in resident recruitment, assessment, individualized learning plan development, scholarly activity and administrative roles. They will serve as a source of support for residents and coordinate resident support groups and wellness activities.
This is primarily a teaching position, direct patient care opportunities may be available if desired.
