The Connecticut Psychological Association exists for the benefit of the profession of psychology and all psychologists within our state. You will notice that some of the membership benefits listed below help all professionals within our field in our state, regardless of CPA member status; others are available to members only. Help us to promote the interests of our profession, support student and consumer issues, and protect and advocate for psychologists by joining our Association. By buying-in to the voice and face of psychology in our state, you help us to keep costs down and benefits “up.”

Benefits of Membership:

  •  Advocacy.  Coordinated and professional advocacy efforts around issues facing Connecticut psychologists at the state and national level. This includes grassroots lobbying and intervention with regulatory and legislative issues affecting our profession.
  •  Healthcare reform efforts.  Behind the scenes efforts to keep psychology relevant in Connecticut’s efforts to implement the Affordable Care Act.
  •  Professional Assistance.  Assistance with questions about the practice of psychology and other professional issues. CPA retains the services of a Director of Professional Affairs and is represented by a cadre of leaders who are dedicated to helping members access needed and up to date information relevant to our field.
  •  Legal Consultation.  Option to buy-in to our Legal Consultation Plan.
  •  Education.  Reduced fees to CPA’s annual convention and other continuing education events throughout the year. CPA is dedicated to providing information about the changing landscape of insurance coverage in our state and nation via regional and statewide events aimed to keep members informed. CPA is likewise dedicated to the ongoing educational development of psychologists in our state.
  •  Information.  Access to member-only educational and informational material. Our evolving website will eventually include member-only access. In addition, CPA sends out advocacy notices and monthly and as-needed enews blasts to keep members informed of Association news and professional developments.
  •  Directory Listing.  CPA members are listed in our searchable membership directory; the listing can include contact information and practice specialties at the member’s choosing.
  •  Networking.  Through our regional networks and special interest divisions and directorates, opportunities for information exchange and to connect with other professionals abound.
  •  Affiliation.  CPA members can be proud of their affiliation with an association that promotes psychology and serves the public. Public service is accomplished through our Public Education Committee, Disaster Response Network, MindStylz initiative, Psychologically Healthy Workplace Program, and affiliated Connecticut Psychological Foundation.

Thank you to those who makes the above benefits possible and who support CPA’s mission with your annual Association dues.
